Questions:

  1. Tell our readers a little about yourself and your writing (including publications).
I’m Sam. I’m from the UK, currently residing in Peterborough. I’ve been writing on and off for a while now. I’ve got a few titles to my name including Haunted Souls, On the Trail to Vulture’s Gulp, and Project Jotunheim with Andrew Jackson. I have also been published in Anterior Skies, edited by CF Page, and HorrorScope: A Zodiac Anthology, Volume1, edited by Harriet Everend.
  2. What writing projects are you currently working on?
The main project I’ve been working on lately is “Tales From the Green Chair”. We are just putting the final touches to it at the moment.
  3. Are you a daytime writer, a mid-day writer, a nighttime writer, or just someone who writes when the mood hits you?
I am a mood writer. I tend to write more at night, but some days you can’t.
  4. Do you have a writing “Bucket List” (goals you want to accomplish as a writer)?
It would be nice to get some of my larger projects out there.
  5. Who is your favorite author and why?
Neil Gaiman, Stephen King, Agatha Christie, James Herbert, and Phillip K. Dick. It depends on the genre. I have a lot of favourites.
  6. How many books do you read in a month? What are your favorite genres?
As for the genres, I read a mixture of sci-fi, horror, and crime. I’m not afraid of the other genres but they are the classics to me. As for numbers, I’m slower this year. Ranging from 3 – 10.
  7. When did you know you wanted to be a writer?
I wanted to be a writer from a young age, really. I always loved books and writing. They always called to me.
  8. HORROR FANS (pick 1-3): What was the first horror movie you ever saw? What is your favorite horror movie? What is the worst horror movie you have ever seen?
First horror? I can’t remember. There were a few Scooby Doo classics I remember from a young age. My favourite horror movie would be The Silence of the Lambs if we count it. As far as worst horror? The original Poltergeist. Just stop screaming. Please.
  9. Do you have any “rules” when you write? (EX for me: the dog never dies!)
Never kill animals. There’s no justification.
  10. Speaking of animals, do you have any pets?
I did. My cat passed this year, but he was a faithful writing companion who used to sit on my keyboard.
  11. What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a writer?
I can’t remember who said it, but “read a lot.” You will pick up a lot from reading others’ works.
